The Parenting Examiner Resolutions for Kon Numero Uno~

Those damn Parenting Examiner bloggers are at it again; this time from Seattle:
2009 New Years resolutions for Kate of Jon and Kate Plus 8

Yesterday afternoon I was at a baby shower (for triplets) and this got us talking about the TV show Jon and Kate plus 8. It was odd because everyone had very intense feelings about this family. Maybe it is because all the Mom’s had multiples or because the show had certainly taken a turn for the worse, but most of guest started as loyal viewers and have either stopped watching completely or only watch sporadically. This brought us to why, which brought us to Kate which brought us to this –
Twelve Moms that were fans of the show offer ten New Year’s resolutions for Kate of Jon and Kate plus 8. We know she is busy so we made the list for her:
10. I will give to others without the camera rolling and being a spokesperson so my children will actually have a reason to follow that example.
9. I will quit complaining about my so called “tight budget” and crying poor while being paid to make a TV show, get free clothing, take lavish trips and are move into a multimillion dollar home!.
8. I will let my children get dirty and have cupcakes on their birthdays even if they don’t eat their dinner so they won’t remember me as a control freak, killjoy and grow up into ones themselves.
7. I will take Mady in for counseling or therapy before her behavior escalates. I will have take time with her alone and really LISTEN to her and try to help her see she is loved and not just a side show of the Jon and Kate plus 8 shows. I will make sure she gets any (and all) the professional help she needs NOW and for good measure I will take Cara in for a session as she may just be handling things inward.
6. I will quit begging for (and then taking) money (love offerings) from hard working people on church tours. These are hard working people who actually work to make a living and are giving from their heart because they BELIEVE you need the money, which you obviously, but they do!
5. I will love my children equally. I will not tell my boys they are gross or icky or Maddy is like Jon because she is a screamer? I will be more aware of what I say to my children and understand that my words can sting for a lifetime.
4. I will turn my focus on love and family and not money. I will remember that my kids see and hear everything I do and make my choices accordingly. I choose to bring them into this world and I will treat them with love as I care and protect them on a daily basis.
3. I will stop showing my children in the shower and on the potty. I will wise up and understand how inappropriate it is to having a crew not only filming these scenes when I am in the room, but even more so when it is just the kids, the crew and camera as well as showing them on TV as entertainment. I will remember I am the parent, stop these tapings and start protecting my children from inappropriate exploitation.
2. I will stop belittling Jon. I will stop screaming at Jon. I will stop insulting Jon. I will stop insulting Jon him behind his back, to the camera, in front of the kids and to his face. I will try and remember I love Jon and choose to be with him for more reasons than the show is called Jon and Kate plus 8!
1. I will stop making a living on the backs of my children because I really do love them and understand what this is teaching them. They are NOT a circus act; their privacy should not be sold off to the highest bidder.
I say the numero uno resolution for Kon is to cut the cameras and couple that action with some intense parenting classes. Add in some therapy as well and perhaps, just perhaps, these children could live with some iota of normalcy - not to mention a chance at sound mental health.
Hope someone with some sense forces Kon not only to look at the very pointed good picture above with the ducks, but to read and understand the article mentioned. It doesn’t matter that the author was obviously an amateur writer and that she misspells and misspeaks (so frigin’ what?). Her points are valid and Kon would do well to check out each and every resolution. Jon, are you listening?

This is my biggest complaint, aside from exploiting the kids. Most the church goers DON’T KNOW THEM or the show. They dig deep in their pockets and pull out $20s and toss them in the basket because they think they are “helping”.
The Gosselins are wasting the talents of their children. They should resolve to make a musical. Hell, even ducks can be trained to dance if they’re standing on electric grates. ZAP! Dance Mady, sing Cara! It’s gold. The hills are alive with the sound of broken spirits and it sounds like Ka-Ching! If that Kate-Bitch can’t figure out how to make those rotten kids bring in more money in 2009 then she’s on my doody list. I’ll bet she doesn’t let me down.

The points are valid and hopefully - highly unlikely - they will sit down together and discuss. Granted some english structure and spelling could’ve been critiqued. Definitely is timely and hits the

about the official g email…I thought the same thing Louise but I would forward it and every other article like it to their email. Q: What is the “official” g email? If anyone knows what it is, I would love to know.
Can you imagine being at that baby shower?! I can only imagine the comments that we didn’t hear in that room!
When my oldest son was young, I took all our families 8mm videos and put them on a video tape, and then put music to it. We used to watch it every Christmas Season, until my brother died a few years ago, and this year was the first year we brought it out since then. We laughed and cried missing the people that were no longer in our lives, but they were all good memories.
I can’t think that the G kids will have the same feeling about their “home videos” when they get older and look back on it, especially the couch sessions, it’s so sad to see the difference between the types of what is probably most normal people’s home videos and what their parents have left for them as a trail of their memories.

Have you guys checked out that site? Seattle Parenting Examiner? it is so out of control, Moon, I just bet you would never let that happen to your site, ppl are using and posting under others names and it is so confusing and no one is doing a thing about it, Some one has made comments under my name so many times, I mean vulgar comments about the Gosselins family members and espically the children. I litteraly begged for Kristy to help, but to no avail, It is the most rediculous thing I have ever encountered,
You can not even make sence who is who and who says what, it is a shame for any decent poster, Thanks moon for not allowing that here, espically where the children are concerned.

I guess I’ll need to get a new persona and not use the same name when I go to different sites. It really seems to bother people that I go to different sites and post. I guess I’ll just get various aliases so nobody can pretend to be me.
fxfanatic, sounds like a good idea to change names, I don’t know what enjoyment ppl get out of doing things like what is going on, on that other site but it is way out of control, You get one or two good comments and then you get it again with someone using your name to be so darn right ugly, it’s a shame. We do not have to agree on J&K or any other subject but we should be able to have a good discussion without all the stupidity that is going on.
I am fairly new (as if you couldn’t tell LOL) to the blogging world, I do enjoy reading and sharing POV’s and opinions, but I don’t want to argue about a goofy show or anything else, Look at the little Caylee Anthony case, or John Travolta, I ‘m sure that those families wish that J&K was their biggest worry/heartache.
You know I look at that precious little girls picture and it’s almost more than I can handle, There is one snippet where she is sitting at the table, and she pulls this red cloth up over her little eyes (as if she is playing peek-a-boo) and she says something to Pa,Pa and that just breaks my heart to know she will never know the love that grandparents have. That her little life was just taken away like it meant nothing , amd then look at all the parents who are at places like St. Jude who are fighting with every fiber of their being to save their child, Sorry for the long post I just am so saddened by the disgust I have for that woman who was suppose to be “the protector” not the Destoyer”
